To the Quilters

To the Quilters

A reflection by Randy Mynard

I’m sitting here after some surgery on my face, enjoying the warmth of this quilt given by the church to my previous wife. I lost her to cancer after a three-year struggle. This quilt now comforts me. The quilters surely realize how much their dedicated work, prayed over by our members, symbolizes the love inherent in their gift, no. 643.

I have enjoyed this quilt myself for six years and will do so for, hopefully, many years to come. Thank you, ladies. It then will pass to others in a long chain of warmed and comforted people. They may be faced with a challenging situation. Health? Loss? Loneliness? Your loving work will be shared by many folks, even in happy times, cuddling with family.

In each quilt you are leaving a legacy of shared Christian love of others, even those far away in distance and time. What a wonderful, caring ministry.
